Lean bulk update 🤍⬇️

With traveling and life obligations, I’ve been a little up and down with hitting my calories and macros consistently, but these past couple weeks of locking back into routine made a huge difference and I’m staring to FEEL and see the results again.

Here are some tips that help me stay on track!

1. Track Your Calories: Aim for a slight calorie surplus, I started with a 250+ increase to my calories to start with, then slowly increased as weeks went on, this was to ensure I was gaining more muscle gain without excess fat, but it really came down to WHAT I was eating with that surplus!

2. Prioritize Protein: I eat about 1.2 grams of protein per pound of body weight to support muscle growth and recovery.

3. Choose Nutrient-Dense Foods: Focus on whole, unprocessed foods like lean meats, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats.

4. Incorporate Healthy Fats: Include sources like avocados, nuts, and seeds, to support hormone production and energy levels. I do keep my fats lower, so when cooking I switched to a spray rather than a bottle of oil, it’s very easy to have spillage in calories and fats when greasing your pan with the bottle!

5. Carbohydrates Matter: Include complex carbs (white/brown rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes) to fuel workouts and replenish glycogen stores.

6. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to support muscle function, recovery, and overall performance.

7. Balance Your Meals: Aim for balanced meals with protein, carbs, and fats to keep energy levels stable and avoid excess fat gain.

8. Avoid Empty Calories: Limit processed foods, sugary drinks, and excessive junk food to avoid fat gain while bulking.

It sounds like a lot, and maybe overwhelming, but these are all things that go into eating cleaner and achieving your fitness goals. Also, it does get easier!!
