Eyewitness video shows hikers wading through thick snow near Mount Qomolangma, also known as Mount Everest, after a sudden blizzard trapped nearly 1,000 people. ⁣

A total of 350 trekkers were left stranded when the blizzard descended on campsites on the Chinese side of the mountain.⁣
⁣
They were safely sheltered in Qudang Township, China's Xizang Autonomous Region, local authorities said on Monday.⁣
⁣
Contact has also been established with more than 200 others who were being guided to safety.⁣
