The first EF-5 tornado in more than a decade has been confirmed in North Dakota. It occurred on June 20th, 2025, and was upgraded to EF5 after calculations came to light on how strong the winds would have had to been to blow an empty train car almost 500 feet. #northdakota #tornado #f5 #ef5 

This ends a twelve-year stretch without an EF-5 tornado since the devastating Moore, Oklahoma storm in 2013.
