Did you know that 80% of the seabed in the Western Province of Sri Lanka has been deemed polluted?

The Cleaner Seabeds Initiative by pearlprotectors is leading the charge in Sri Lanka, using volunteer dive expeditions to remove abandoned fishing gear (ghost gear) from the reefs and other sensitive reef habitats. So far, the project has removed 1,000kg of fishing gear, and engaged 10,000 people during World Tourism Day!
