The one sport I didn’t expect to photograph in 2025 ⚔️

During the World University Games, I found myself standing at the edge of a fencing piste — a sport I’d barely seen up close before.

Fast movements, flashes of light, total focus. I had seconds to learn how to follow the rhythm, find the angles, and capture the emotion behind the mask.

It’s moments like these that remind me why I love this work — every assignment brings something new to learn, new people to meet, and new ways to grow as a photographer.
