After nearly 40 years, Cheese ’n Stuff owner Sam Juha shared in a TikTok post that he is handing down his sandwich shop to his nephew, Chuck Juha. ⁠

Sam opened Cheese ’n Stuff in 1986. He soon became a “legend” in the Berkeley community, according to Chuck, and people would stop to say ‘hi’ or take pictures with Sam at UC Berkeley football games. ⁠

“I just hope I can follow in his footsteps (so) customers feel that despite his absence in the future, those aspects of the business are going to remain; affordability, community, friendships, relationships, all can be part of Cheese ’n Stuff moving forward,” Chuck said.⁠
