Excuse me for feeling sentimental, but last night was such a “Nashville Moment” as I like to call them. Unexpected and beautiful moments that could only happen here in Nashville, because it is such a special and unique city. “Just” a small room full of Nashville first responders being celebrated for their incredible service and nearly every single person singing along to this hauntingly beautiful song with 50+ Gibson guitars floating above our heads (so cool 😆) I’ve collected so many Nashville moments over the last 16 years of falling in love with this city and was so happy to add this one to my memory list ❤️ (they played some bangers too, not just the ballad, haha!)

I’ve always really loved this song and I remember hearing it for the first time and just weeping in my car. It came out in 2010, the year I moved to Nashville at 22 years old with the biggest dreams in my heart of working in the music industry. I wanted to record country and Christian music and I just felt called to be a part of music in some way that might change the world or even change the hearts of just a few. I had no idea how. I just knew I was where I was supposed to be. Whatever I was doing here, I knew it was for a purpose bigger than myself. I remember thinking after hearing this song “what if I don’t have a lot of time? How can God use me then now in case I don’t?” And I try to ask myself that question every day, though I often fail. So to hear them sing that last night while I’m working was a beautiful full circle moment for me. Was taking photos and holding in all the emotions 😆 (Also good grief Kimberly’s voice is ethereal)

My dreams changed and grew as I did, and I still don’t see the full picture of my life or how I got here or where I’m going, but I do know I’m grateful to be here now in the present, doing what I’m doing and hopefully I can make a difference in some way. (Sorry that was a heavy to start to a Thursday morning 🫣)
