REEL HISTORY: I almost walked past this painting at the @nationalgallery, until I realised it was telling a story from my part of the world. The shows the family of Darius III, ruler of the ancient lands of Aryana, kneeling before Alexander the Great.
Painted in 1565 by Paolo Veronese, it’s a Renaissance retelling of a Persian story,reimagined through Venetian eyes.

Definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in London.
