Blending Afro-Cuban rhythms with soul and R&B, artists like Bobby Sanabria (seen jamming in this clip) Joe Cuba, Pete Rodríguez, Mongo Santamaría, Johnny Colón created  irresistible dance grooves that paved the way for salsa while inspiring the rhythms of funk, hip-hop, and reggaetón.
