Max Verstappen teamed up with Mad Mike Whiddett and Red Bull to step completely outside his Formula 1 comfort zone and learn drifting in Mad Mike’s 600-hp Mazda RX-7 “BADBUL.”

Filmed at Red Bull’s Driftbrothers facility, the session started with doughnuts and figure-eights before Verstappen began attempting full drift entries and corner linking.

Whiddett coached him on throttle balance, counter-steering, and initiating slides using weight transfer rather than raw power.

Impressively, Verstappen picked it up almost instantly, using his trademark precision and control to hold long, smoky drifts within just a few laps.

The video quickly went viral, showing the world’s top F1 driver mastering one of the hardest car control arts with ease.
