Have you ever seen a historical Korean drama set during the Silla Dynasty (668 - 935 CE)?

If so, you’ve already been introduced to beautiful and historic Gyeongju, where this year’s Spring Conference for the English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Program was held.

Gyeongju was the capital of the Silla Dynasty and one of the five largest cities  in the world at its height. Today, the Gyeongju Historic Areas make up a UNESCO World Heritage site full of gorgeous Buddhist art and remains of temples and palaces. 
During Spring Conference, ETAs were able to explore the historical importance and natural beauty of sites such as Bulguksa Temple, Woljeonggyo Bridge, and the Gyeongju National Museum alongside more modern attractions like Gyeongju World amusement park and numerous cafes. 풀브라이트 영어 보조 교사(ETA)들이 봄학기 워크숍 중에 찍은 사진들은 경주의 아름다움을 잘 표현하고 있는데요. 경주는 신라 시대의 수도였고 당시 세계에서 가장 큰 5개 도시 안에 들 정도로 큰 도시였습니다. UNESCO에서 지정된 세계 유산인만큼, ETA들은 이번 경주 방문을 통해 한국 역사에 대해 많이 느끼고 배울 수 있었다고 합니다.

이번 워크숍 기간 동안 ETA들은 경주의 여러 명소를 방문했는데요. 역사적인 불국사에서 투어를 하고, 경주국립박물관에서 한국의 국보를 관람하며, 여유시간에는 경주 월드와 예쁜 카페에 가기도 했습니다. 아직 경주에 방문하지 않으신 분들, 나중에 꼭 방문해 보시길 바랍니다!
