The Moon and Saturn tonight (Composite Image) the sizes of the two objects are relative and to scale 
This is the first light from a new telescope (8” Airy Disk Refractor)
I made this composite for the occultation that will occur tomorrow, Tuesday September 17th 2024. The occultation of Saturn by the Moon will be a celestial event where the Moon passes directly in front of Saturn, temporarily hiding it from view. This happens as the Moon moves along its orbit, and the event can be observed from certain parts of the world, depending on location. During the occultation, Saturn will disappear behind the Moon’s bright limb and reappear from the dark side. It’s a striking event, especially with Saturn’s rings visible through telescopes, offering a beautiful display of the alignment between two prominent celestial bodies.

This occultation will be visible primarily from parts of North and Central America. Specifically, the best views will be in:
* United States: Particularly in the central and western regions.
* Mexico
* Caribbean: Some islands may experience the event depending on their location.
* Central America: Countries like Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
In other parts of the world, Saturn and the Moon will appear close to each other, but not align for an occultation.
