Look what's possible when we come together for our kids! Educators, parents, community leaders, and advocates joined forces because we know the truth: when 3 in 10 of our low-income students are reading at grade level, something must change. For months, our coalition worked alongside partners across California to make sure our legislators heard loud and clear: evidence-based reading instruction works, and our students need it now. 

The result? AB 1454 passed with unanimous, bipartisan support and earned the Governor's signature. This evidence-based reading bill is a win for Oakland students, California students, and every child who deserves to unlock the power of reading. #CaliforniaKidsRead #RightToRead #earlyliteracy
