7:28.24 in the 3000m indoors at BU, a new American record! 🇺🇸 

9th All-Time (fastest non-African born athlete in the distance) 🌍 

Not only did Nuguse break Galen Rupp’s indoor AR of 7:30.16, but the ON Athletics Club superstar also ran faster than Grant Fisher’s outdoor AR of 7:28.48 from last year at the Monaco Diamond League. 

Unreal stuff from the Notre Dame alum. 🍀 

Other superb performances: 

• Drew Bosley breaks Nuguse’s 3000m NCAA collegiate indoor record, drops a 7:36.42. 

• Luis Grijalva smashes the four minute mile barrier and breaks another Guatemalan national record, as the former NAU Lumberjack crossed the line in 3:53.53. 

• 15 men break four minutes in the mile at BU, with 4 of them representing Georgetown; Matthew Rizzo (3:56.20), Abel Teffra (3:57.76), Camden Gilmore (3:58.45), Lucas Guerra (3:58.94). 

• Alex Phillip of John Carroll sets a new D3 NCAA collegiate record in the 3000m, with a strong 7:53.24 clocking. 

• Hobbs Kessler storms to a 7:39.00 in the 3000m to finish behind Drew Bosley and fellow 19 year old Addisu Yihine (7:36.13)
