A truck fire has closed lanes on the northbound side of the Tri-State Tollway, officials said.⁠

According to Total Traffic, the closure is impacting nearly all northbound lanes between the Touhy Toll Plaza and Dempster Street as of 4 p.m. Thursday.⁠

The truck, which is parked on the shoulder of the roadway, was badly burned, with NBC's Sky 5 helicopter showing the devastation to the cab and to the trailer, with firefighters continuing to battle the blaze as heavy smoke billowed into the air.⁠
