Man, if 15 year old Sammie could see me now. 

I was bullied in middle school, insecure, and had extremely low self esteem. I sadly carried all of that with me throughout most of my life. It wasn’t until 2020 when things actually changed for me. That was my catalyst year, the lowest of lows. I decided to take full responsibility and control over myself and my life and began focusing on who I wanted to be. 
But here’s the thing - 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚. 

I desired so much more than “finding” myself. No, I wanted to create and become the best version of myself. It started with self awareness - being honest with myself about my flaws and weaknesses then making little changes to be better and do better. Little changes add up over time. This action planted the seed of growth that I desperately needed and welcomed. It was difficult at times, but continuously watering my own grass has changed my life forever. 
I’ve flourished into this entirely different woman, one who not only sets goals… but crushes them. One who sees the strength in being vulnerable and speaking her truth & telling her story.  One who doesn’t shut down anymore and chooses to communicate instead. One who is far more kind, patient, and understanding. One who values herself and her peace so much more than settling for less than she deserves. (If you were wondering why I’m single - there’s your answer. Choice.)
I’ve learned and I’ve grown so much in this journey of self love and improvement. A journey that was triggered by loss and sadness has become a story of triumph and strength. I leveled up & gained a helluva lot more than I lost. #onlygains
