[English below] 🌖Comment s’entraîner pour un environnement quasi-inaccessible, où seuls 12 membres d’équipage sont allés ? En essayant de se soumettre à la plus grande variété de situations, et en cherchant des similitudes.

✈️ C’est en avion que toutes les agences spatiales du monde s’entraînent pour l’espace et pour la lune, pas seulement pour le pilotage manuel lui-même (qui devient partout de plus en plus aidé par les systèmes modernes) mais pour les compétences fondamentales des pilotes : communication dans des contextes dynamiques et complexes, prise de décision en temps réel et sous risque, gestion de la charge de travail, leadership et travail en équipe, et conscience de la situation (surtout quand elle est changeante).

🎯 C’est pour perfectionner tous ces aspects que j’ai suivi le commander course chez Airbus Training, trois semaines à se confronter à des situations exigeantes dans le cockpit de l’A350 ! Plus de photos sur mon LinkedIn ! Les vidéos arrivent en story !

🇬🇧 👌 Practice makes perfect!
We may not have a spacecraft ready to land on the Moon just yet, but preparation starts here and now. Honing our skills is essential to be ready for the missions ahead.

✈️ I was glad to spend some time in the simulator at Airbus’ training facility and add new qualifications. The commander course on a modern, highly technological aircraft like the A350 was a perfect opportunity to practice the core pilot competencies — which go far beyond simple stick-and-rudder proficiency.

🧩 Skills such as situational awareness in dynamic and complex environments, problem solving and decision-making under stress, workload management (especially in case of failures, emergencies, or crises), communication, leadership, teamwork, and strict adherence to procedures are invaluable across every operational domain. And there’s no better platform than aircraft to acquire and maintain them.
