## Caption

Look closer… and you’ll spot the real stars of the story. 👀

This esawebb image features Abell S1063, a massive galaxy cluster 4.5 billion light-years away in the constellation Grus. First observed by hubbleesa, it’s now been captured in breathtaking detail by Webb — and it’s doing something truly spectacular.

Thanks to a phenomenon called gravitational lensing, the immense mass of the cluster bends and magnifies the light of faint galaxies hiding behind it. The result? Glowing arcs and streaks — distorted, yes, but magnified windows into the distant past.

This image is what we call a deep field: a long exposure designed to reveal the faintest, farthest galaxies. With 120 hours of observing time and nine infrared filters, this is Webb’s deepest look yet at a single target.

So next time you spot those arcs, remember: you’re not just looking at light.
You’re looking at time.
