Happy Africa Day! 🌍

Today we celebrate the beauty, diversity, and promise of Africa, as seen from space. Swipe through this carousel to experience the continent’s breathtaking colours and textures, captured by Earth observation satellites and our astronauts aboard the iss.

From the Sahara to South Africa, the Great Rift Valley to Victoria Falls, these views are a celebration of Africa’s natural wonders and vibrant landscapes.

On this day, we also want to give a shout out to the africanspaceagency (AfSA)!

Headquartered in Egypt, AfSA unites the 55 African Union member states to advance the continent’s space ambitions — from climate resilience to innovation, connectivity, and peaceful exploration.

We are proud to be a partner and celebrate this new chapter in Africa’s space journey. Here’s to space-powered progress — for all people, on all continents.
