🇦🇹🌍✨ This week, Vienna is the space capital of the world! We’re halfway through #COPUOS2025, and week 1 has been 🔥. Here are some key highlights: 

1️⃣ Space powers united under one roof — a strong reminder of COPUOS’ unique ability to gather all major spacefaring nations. The VIC hosted major exhibitions from 🇺🇸 “From Armstrong to Artemis,” 🇷🇺 “80th Anniversary of Victory in WWII,” and 🇨🇳 “20 Years of Lunar Exploration.” 

2️⃣ 🇺🇳 Director Aarti Holla-Maini convened a historic dialogue with constellation operators from 🇪🇺🇺🇸🇨🇳, advancing trust and cooperation in space traffic management — a milestone for commercial collaboration. 

3️⃣ Africa took centre stage with side events on Earth observation for disaster risk reduction and African space leadership. Director Holla-Maini met H.E. Dr Tidiane Ouattara, President of the African Space Council, reinforcing #UNOOSA’s commitment to inclusive growth. 

4️⃣ With 🇯🇵 JAXA, UNOOSA launched a new round of #KiboCUBE — a CubeSat programme enabling developing countries to deploy satellites from the ISS. 5️⃣ On 23 June, 🇺🇳 United Nations University and SpaceData Inc. signed an MoU on space development, digital twins, AI & the SDGs — with UNOOSA as implementing partner.
