🌊🚀The #Space4Ocean Alliance officially launched on Friday! The declaration of the Space4Ocean Alliance was officially handed over to Peter Thomson, the United Nations Secretary General's Special Envoy for the Ocean during a dedicated high-level side event organized by #UNOOSA at the third United Nations Oceans Conference (#UNOC3) together with Centre National d'Études Spatiales, Gouvernement Monaco, 🇲🇻 Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Maldives Space Research Organisation (MSRO), the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, Norwegian Space Agency, and Mercator Ocean International

📜 27 organisations have already signed the Declaration of Intent, and this is just the beginning. UNOOSA will continue to leverage its unique position as a gateway between space technology and users, the broader UN system, and Member States to bring more entities to the table, including during the upcoming 68th Session of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (#COPUOS2025) from 25 June to 2 July.

As Director Aarti Holla-Maini said "Today we launch the Alliance with ambition, unity, and purpose, for the interests of our oceans, our planet as a whole, and all those who live and work around it."
