🌏We can now look future and predict the impact of natural disasters, rising sea levels, flooding, and eroding coastlines before they happen. Space makes this possible. Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are particularly exposed to the effects of climate change. In this video, discover how a digital twin and flood simulation of 🇹🇴 Tonga’s main island enables responders to: 
🌊 Simulate floods and sea level rise, which can pinpoint vulnerable infrastructure, streets, and neighbourhoods in advance. 
🛰️ Incorporate space and data-driven tools in #disastermanagement, strengthening national risk strategies and emergency response efforts. 

Developed through a pioneering collaboration between #UNOOSA, the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites, Airbus Defence and Space, and Space Data Inc, this project shows how to turn space into safety for vulnerable communities. This is particularly timely, as UNOOSA is proud to be a founding member of the #Space4Ocean Alliance. 

The Alliance will be launched on Friday at the high-level event organized by UNOOSA at the UNOC3 in Nice
