## Caption

The 62nd Session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee didn’t disappoint! Here are some key highlights: 

1️⃣☄️ Asteroid 2024 YR4 triggered the first-ever International Asteroid Warning Network notification threshold alert. With a 2.3% chance of impact in 2032, it will remain trackable until June 2025 before disappearing from view for three years. 

2️⃣🇺🇳 The Subcommittee recommended UNISPACE IV for 2027, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the Outer Space Treaty and the 70th session of COPUOS. 

3️⃣🤝 UNOOSA held a fundraising event to support projects under Director Aarti Holla-Maini’s Vision & Strategy 2024-2030, including the Global Space Law Project, One Moon for All, the Inter-Agency Procurement Hub for Earth Observation Imagery, a UN-SPIDER office in LATAM, and Space4Youth. 

4️⃣🌚 The Action Team on Lunar Activities Consultation (#ATLAC) met for the first time under new chairs Hasan Abbas 🇵🇰 and Ulpia Elena Bontezatu 🇷🇴 and will finalize its workplan soon.

5️⃣📡 Marks the start of committee deliberations on space situational awareness/ space traffic coordination to ensure enhanced space safety in the face of growing congestion 

6️⃣🛰♻️ The LTS Working Group continued discussions on implementing the 2019 Long-Term Sustainability Guidelines, tackling challenges in space sustainability. 

7️⃣♀️ We celebrated International Day of Women and Girls in Science (Feb 11) with a #Space4Women side event, featuring our landmark study on women in space & a Gender Mainstreaming Toolkit.
