🇬🇧 How long does it take to prepare for a mission like Axiom 3? 🚀

Well, it's hard to say exactly how long the standard process of preparation takes because each space mission is different and has a slightly different course.

🧑‍🚀 For Marcus, it was a record-breaking time from selecting him as an astronaut to his spaceflight. For Marcus, it took a little over a year and three months. We were selected in November 2022, and Marcus just flew recently.

On the other hand, Tristar, Marcus's colleague from Sweden, had the longest waiting time in the corps from his selection in 1992 to his first spaceflight in 2006, which was 14 years.

Marcus started his training at the beginning of May 2023, and he flew on January 18th, so it took a little over eight months 🛰

As for NASA, the recommendation is that training for missions like Axiom 3 should last about 10 months 👍🏻
