Do you celebrate the equinox? 🌞

On Sunday, 22 September 2024 at 14:43 CEST, the Sun crossed the equator, marking the equinox—a time when day and night are in perfect balance. Whether you’re welcoming the crisp, golden hues of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere or the blossoming vibrancy of spring in the Southern Hemisphere, this moment connects us all.

In the carousel, you can watch the Sun as seen by the Proba-2 satellite around the time of the equinox and Earth as captured by @eumetsatmedia. Then, marvel at the beauty of our planet, from the autumnal glow of Japan’s islands to the Apennines and the majestic Alps.

Wherever you are, take a moment to pause, reflect, and embrace the balance of the seasons.
