FEATURE FRIDAY // It’s #FeatureFriday with new bostonballet2 member Alberto Gil Vicente! 

Originally from Madrid, Spain, Alberto began dancing at age 8. He trained at the Professional Dance Conservatory of Madrid before spending four years at The Royal Ballet School in London. 

⭐️ Favorite role to perform: Le Corsaire pas de deux 
🍿 Favorite dance movie: Carlos Acosta’s film, Yuli 
🕺Favorite Choreographers: Kenneth MacMillan and George Balanchine 
🎼 Favorite ballet & score: Romeo and Juliet by Sergei Prokofiev 
👣 Favorite dance step: Any jumps or pirouettes 
🍏 Favorite midday snack: A green apple 
🎒 Essential item in your dance bag: My ballet shoes and my wooden toy for luck! 
️♾️ Can’t live without: Without a doubt, my family 
✈️ Best place ever traveled to: Costa Rica 
💫 Superpower wish: To fly, so I can do all the jumps and tricks I need for ballet. 
☕️ Go-to coffee shop order: Iced pistachio latte 
👯‍♀️Dream Dance Partner: I have so many! Alina Cojocaru would be a dream! 
🍕Guilty pleasures: Pizza and Netflix 
📚Other pursuits outside of dance: I love reading, listening to music, watching soccer, and traveling. 
🤘Current soundtrack to your life: Rock is the best! Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Oasis, and Dire Straits! 
🪄 Essential pre-show ritual: I just like to concentrate and focus on what I need to do. 
✨ Who inspired you to dance: I used to watch videos of ballet stars that I admire so much, Carlos Acosta, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Jeffrey Cirio, and Julio Bocca. These artists and many more inspired me throughout my journey. 
♥️ Advice for aspiring dancers: “Work smart, not hard.” Given by Mr. Atymtayev when I was studying at the Royal Ballet School.
