Week 6 of 17 — Broncos vs. Jets🧡💙🏈

Authentic Shepherd’s Pie (the real deal- not “cottage pie”) is made with ground lamb, not beef. Comfort food perfection for our London matchup 🇬🇧👇

Save this recipe for the next cozy game day:
🥩 Filling (the “Shepherd” part)
• 2 lbs Ground Lamb
• 1 Large Onion, Finely Diced
• 3-4 Carrots, Finely Diced
• 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
• 2 Tbsp Tomato Paste
• 1 Bag Frozen Peas
• 1 Cup Mushrooms
• 1 Cup Beef Stock
• 2 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
• 1 Tsp Fresh Thyme 
• 1 Tsp Paprika 
• 1 Tsp Fresh Rosemary
• 2 Tbsp All-Purpose Flour
• Salt + Black Pepper
• 2 Tbsp Butter

🥔 Mashed Potato Topping
• 2 lbs Russet Potatoes
• 4-8 Tbsp Butter
• ½ Cup Whole Milk
• ½ Cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (we added this to make it extra cozy)
• Salt + Pepper

🔥 Basic Steps
	1.	Boil potatoes until tender; mash with butter, milk/cream, cheese, and seasoning.
	2.	Brown lamb in a skillet; drain excess fat.
	3.	Add onions, carrots, and garlic; cook until softened.
	4.	Stir in tomato paste, herbs, Worcestershire, and flour; cook 1 minute.
	5.	Add stock, peas, and mushrooms; simmer until thickened.
	6.	Spread meat mixture into a baking dish; top evenly with mashed potatoes.
	7.	Bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Made this one with my mom while visiting my parents in Missouri 🧡 She helped me with the whole thing (and made it way more fun). A little late this week — but so were the Broncos, and we both still came out with a win 😅🇬🇧 Go Broncos🧡💙
