When asked by host of ‘The Late Late Show’ Patrick Kielty about the description, the 84-year-old actress asserted “I am. I’m a left wing d*ke and I love it. I love being a lesbian. I'm not going to apologize for that. It's great fun.”

During the interview, Margolyes also addressed her support for the people of Gaza and her identity as a Jewish person speaking out against the actions of the Israeli government.

She stressed the importance of differentiating between Jewish people and the Israeli state, stating: "It’s very important people realise all Jewish people are not killers."
