Tessa Thompson has opened up about playing 'Hedda' in the new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's play of the same name.

Speaking about playing a bisexual, biracial version of the character, Thompson said: “I feel hesitant sometimes to politicise any of these things but then I realise things end up being politicised sometimes just by virtue of what you look like or who you are.”

"But I will say that there are not many Heddas that look like me.”

The film, directed by Nia DaCosta, is out on October 22.
