We’re always talking about effective communication. Sharing some of the things that have helped us build a strong foundation: 

Timing: Some issues need 2 minutes, some need 2 hours or even 2 days. We don’t ambush eachother with 2 hour conversations when we only have 2 minutes. 

Tone: It’s hardly ever WHAT we say - but HOW we say it. The sad part is - 9/10 we can apply tact when speaking with people outside of our homes but talk crazy to our spouses. Don’t do that. 

Follow through: This is the safety net of communication. Follow through confirms understanding and understanding creates safety. 

Two people working towards a common vision have too much to lose in silence but so much to gain in effective communication.
