Lē'ahi 🐟 

This drawing was a personal challenge for me back in 2022! I hadn’t taken on many landscapes, and I also hadn’t done very many “large” drawings. 

At the time, I was feeling a little burnt out and wanted to take the time to make something just for me. Every year I like to take on a handful of projects where I sit down in front of a canvas and think “There is no way I’ll be able to do this” and push myself to at least try. 

I became an artist while living in Honolulu, pinching pennies and trying to find out what I wanted to do with my life. Some of my favorite memories of my time living in Hawaii were spent either hiking it, or looking up at it from the water while surfing with friends 🏄‍♂️ I made this piece to remind me of my time living there and to remember where this whole art journey actually started to get rolling. I am so happy that I made this piece and even happier with how it turned out!!
