تجاوز یعنی «تحمیل ارادهٔ من به بدن و اختیار تو» — نه «از دست دادن کنترل» و نه «بهانه‌ و توجیه به خاطر لباس یا آرایش».
وقتی کسی می‌گوید «نمی‌تونستم خودم رو‌ نگه دارم» یا «تو فلان‌جوری بودی» یعنی فقط دنبال توجیه رفتار خودش هست؛ حقیقت ساده است: 

تجاوز عمل زور و اجبار است و انتخابِ آگاهانهٔ شخص دیگر را نقض می‌کند.

ما باید فرهنگِ سرزنش قربانی را متوقف کنیم، حد و مرزها و «نه» را محترم بشماریم، و مسئولیتِ رفتارِ متجاوز را واضح و آشکار بدانیم.
