🚨 Downtown Memphis Update
Leaders from the Downtown Memphis Commission and Memphis Tourism say it’s time for Memphians to get back downtown and support local businesses — even as the Memphis Safe Task Force and National Guard remain deployed in the area.

They say the city’s “heartbeat” is still Beale Street, and the work to make it safer is “working.”

🎯 “Downtown is safe… We have work to do, but we are partnering with all the right people,” said DMC President Chandell Ryan.

But not everyone agrees — some visitors say the heavy federal presence feels “off-putting.”
