I love the mitzvot of Sukkot! Eating & sleeping in the Sukkah and shaking the Lulav & Etrog. It is all grounded in an appreciation of the beautiful earth Hashem gave us. Being in Israel, there is an extra layer of gratitude for how Hashem continues to protect us in our ancient homeland.

In this vein, the Lulav is often called an instrument of thanks to God for the blessings of the land BUT it is also often referred to as a weapon that we use to fight away the forces of darkness. We can learn from this that giving thanks to God is what gives us the power to defeat our enemies. During this festival of gratitude, Sinwar (May his name be erased), was sent to his rightful place, next to a few of his buddies. May we all continue to be see many blessings, including the downfall of the enemies of Israel. Chag Sameach! A Gut Moed!
