## Caption

It's easy to get get caught up in perfection and to hit creative roadblocks. 

There are a few tactics that I use to combat creative fatigue, and procrastination. 

One tactic is actually a mindset. 

Learn to grow and foster a "Learning" mindset. 

Understand that everything you do is ultimately an experiment.🔬 It's important to kick your thinking process into learning mode. You should never walk away thinking, "I failed." What makes a learning mindset so important?

- Fear of failure is a key driver of procrastination. By thinking of learning instead of failing, you combat fear of failure. 

- Your assumptions are probably wrong. 

- Your audience will ultimately determine what's good and bad.

- Testing multiple imperfect creative, copy, or whatever, at the same time will lead you to what works faster. 

There Are Ways to Procrastinate without Procrastinating

I call this letting my thoughts "marinate." I am actively problem solving but it's all happening in my head. The "Ah HA!" moment can come from anywhere, so here are some activities that I do to try and jump start my brain: 

- 🏃‍♂️ Exercise - Cardio is best for me. I have even solved calculus math problems on runs. 

- Meditate.

- 📝  Free writing or stream of consciousness writing. Literally start writing whatever you're thinking about.

- If you're writing, write the 1st and last sentence of your piece.

- 📖  read. Read. READ!

- 🎶  Play music. This can be listening or actively playing an instrument or singing. I play the violin! 🎻
