Happy Farmer Friday! The 2024 harvest season is right around the corner and our partner farmers are gearing up for go time!🙌

Meet Bob Baines, a lifelong fisherman out of Spruce Head, Maine. He is a leader in his community and dedicated to preserving the working waterfront and its historical fisheries. Bob sits on numerous boards and advisory councils, including the Maine Lobstermen’s Association, DMR Lobster Advisory Council, and the Maine Climate Council. 

Bob sees kelp farming not only as a way to diversify his income, but as an integral part of keeping future Mainers working on the water. This will be his fifth year farming kelp with Atlantic Sea Farms alongside his nephew and farming partner, Cole. With great success, the trio looks forward to expanding their farm next season. After a long day lobstering, scalloping, or kelping, Bob loves a good craft beer most likely brewed by his son!🍻
