## Caption

Picked some garlic scapes from the garden today so I decided to use them to make a batch of garlic scape pesto. It’s a great condiment to have in the fridge because it’s perfect on sandwiches, eggs, pizza or mixed with pasta or rice.

Garlic -Scape Pesto

1 cup garlic scapes, cut into smaller pieces
1 cup fresh basil leaves
1/3 cup toasted walnuts (I used sunflower seeds in this batch because someone is allergic to walnuts) 
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Zest and juice of one lemon 
salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

Pulse all ingredients in a food processor until minced. Add the olive oil until you get the consistency you want. Check for seasoning
