🇮🇶 Wadi-us-Salaam: The City of the Dead in the Heart of Iraq

Welcome to Wadi-us-Salaam, the Valley of Peace, the largest cemetery in the world, right in Najaf, Iraq.

Over six million graves stretch as far as the eye can see. For centuries, this place has been sacred to Shia Muslims from all over the world.

At its center is the tomb of Imam Ali, one of the most important figures in Islam. Many have dreamed of resting here, close to something bigger than themselves.

Wadi-us-Salaam is more than a cemetery.
It’s an ancient necropolis with 1,400 years of history, now on UNESCO’s tentative World Heritage list.

Walk its narrow paths, see the unique tombs, feel the stillness, and you realize this is a city built on faith, memory, and time itself.
