Reigning Horse of the Year THORPEDO ANNA and her best pal, Cooper 🥰 The seven-time Grade I-winning champion, who won 12 of 16 starts including 10 stakes, is officially retired and will start her new chapter as a broodmare. The news was announced Wednesday, Oct.15. 

She will call John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms at Xalapa near Paris, Ky., home, though a decision regarding who she will be bred to has not yet been made and will not be until after the Breeders’ Cup.

Additionally, a 20% share in the champion filly will be offered at the upcoming Keeneland Championship Sale at Del Mar on Oct. 29.

Here’s to a filly that captured hearts and inspired fans across the country and beyond. From the GI Kentucky Oaks to the GI Breeders’ Cup Distaff, amongst her many elite-level victories, she proved herself to be in a class of her own time and time again.

“We’re really proud of her. She’s had tremendous support—thank you to all the fans that have cheered her on during her career,” said trainer Kenny McPeek.

For any fans in Lexington, Kenny McPeek has invited the public to Keeneland on Saturday, Oct. 25 to visit Thorpedo Anna in Barn 25, Stall 1. The meet-and-greet will be held from 11AM-12PM.
