In 2014, The Queen of Salsa became the first Latina artist inducted into The Apollo Walk of Fame, a fitting tribute to an artist whose influence expanded the legacy of our theater forever. 

The Apollo has always been known as a home for soul, gospel, and R&B. But when trailblazing Latino artists like Cruz, Johnny Pacheco, and Tito Puente brought the rhythms of salsa and Latin jazz, they proved that this was a stage where all genres could thrive!
