Every October, Youth Justice Action Month reminds us of young people's power and potential & the urgent need to build systems that support them, not punish.⁠

This year’s theme, “United for Action – A Call for Unity,” asks us to come together across communities to reimagine safety, justice, and opportunity for youth.⁠

That call feels especially timely here in New Orleans. Days after thousands gathered at the #NoKings rally to demand an end to militarized responses to public safety, and as a new mayoral administration takes office amid a looming National Guard deployment—we’re asking: What does real justice look like for our city’s kids?⁠
