I’ve seen the word “toxic” thrown around A LOT on Instagram and TikTok recently and I wanted to clear a few things up…

People are rarely toxic. Most of the time, they’re just engaging in a behavior or situation that becomes toxic.

And most of us decide to just throw in the towel when things get to that “toxic” point.

But I challenge you to put yourself in pause and have an adult conversation to talk through the issues at hand.

Don’t get me wrong, if you’re dealing with narcissism, an abusive relationship, or someone who refuses to do the work - it’s time for you to move on.

But if your default is to run when the going gets tough, to ghost someone you’re dating or to cut out a friend that you’ve been having issues with without trying to do the work, you will miss out on a lot of beautiful, lasting relationships.

This is one of the many incredibly important lessons I’ve learned about relationships.
