Back in the mid-1950s, Ferrari began to successfully export their cars to America. The United States had become an important market, and regional representative John von Neumann thought there was a market for a spider version of the delectable #Ferrari250GTBerlinetta, the greatest Ferrari road-going coupé of the era.

It was then that the first California was born: the #Ferrari250California.
