First-Time Dad: NICU Day 5. Today included a huge first for me, another major step forward for our son’s breathing, and maybe the best NICU visit yet.

I got to feed our little guy for the first time, which was incredible (even if I spilled some!). Seeing him respond and thrive is everything. He’s making amazing progress weaning off oxygen, and we’re starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I’m also sharing an update on the wild world of hospital bills and the fascinating legal limbo our son is in until we get his official birth certificate. It’s a journey!

So grateful for these moments and hopeful he’ll be home soon. ❤️
