I was unaware that so many are unaware about a system that affects us all. 

Happy to shed light - hiring and retaining excellent educators should be our top priority as a nation, yet we are failing here. 

Teacher friends, I urge you to share your stories below. I mentioned salary caps, but missed the salary freezes! Those are…fun times. 

The truth is, home school, private school, or any other alternative is not a viable solution for most. We have to fix the system we have to best serve our children. 

Leaving a job I loved was a hard thing to do. This is my first September out of the classroom, and though I am grateful for a lighter mental load, different opportunities, and more earning potential…I miss being in a school.
