As a teacher, back to school week was always so stressful for me. And after becoming a mom, I had too much on my own plate; I could not halt my teacher anxiety to be present for my own kids. I know this is the reality for many educators who spread themselves thin between showing up for their students and their families every school year. 

Teaching is hardly just a profession; it is a calling. Yet I’ve been called in this season to explore opportunities outside of the classroom, and I’m doing so whole heartedly knowing my skills as a teacher will never fail me as I work to build my community here 🫶

Today was special as I embraced this moment with my little guys. With a few hiccups 🙃 we got back on track by reading affirmation cards for boys @heartsandacres 

Happy new school year to my teacher friends - I’m missing the sideways looks we gave each other passing in the hallways #iykyk 👀 & to my past students: you got this 👊& be niiice!!😉

And with heart aching news of another school tragedy, I’m praying (& voting) for change to answer what the majority of American people want in this country: safety for our children.
