The creator of SolarSPELL, Laura Hosman — professor and sustainability scientist at ASU — has traveled to some of the world's most remote learning locations. 🌏

As early as 2015, Hosman's team, Peace Corps volunteers and local teachers introduced rural Pacific Island communities to the solar-powered hotspot's digital library. 💻

Upon the team's return in February of this year, Hosman and others were inspired by the level of importance Fijians have placed on climate change after learning more about it. 🌱

In the Pacific Islands of Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia and Tonga, Hosman and team's work has connected learners to digital content including English literacy and localized health-related information. 📖

In Rwanda, the SolarSPELL team worked with @bridge2rwanda scholars to curate resources for the East Africa digital library. 

Hosman and her team have also traveled to Comoros and South Sudan. ✈️

"I believe that education is at the heart of improving people's quality of life. When people gain access to quality, relevant, useful information, they can gain the power to define their own development goals and achieve them."

For Hosman and SolarSPELL, the future is bright.
