SMALL SCHOOL POTY: MICHAEL HUGHES‼️🤩

Michael Hughes of Holy Cross earns Small School Player of the Year honors on our NEPA Hoops All-District 2 Team.

The senior guard led the Crusaders with 459 points this season (15.3 PPG), shooting 72.7% from the free-throw line while averaging 2.6 assists per game. He finished his high school career with 1,210 total points—surpassing the 1,000 mark during Holy Cross’ deep postseason run.

A leader on and off the court, Hughes helped guide Holy Cross to a Lynett Tournament title, LIAA Division 2 championship, district runner-up finish, and three straight appearances in the PIAA state semifinals.

The Small School category includes all 15 District 2 teams competing in PIAA classifications 1A through 3A. 

The NEPA Hoops All-District 2 Team was selected through coach feedback, individual stats, in-game impact, and season-long evaluation by our staff and contributors. Stay tuned—more awards coming soon!
