LIONS POSTGAME: The jserra.football team put up a spirited effort throughout much of Friday’s Trinity League battle against Mater Dei before falling to the Monarchs 40-7 at Santa Ana Stadium in Santa Ana.

Lions Head Football Coach Victor Santa Cruz highlighted the intensity his team displayed for much of the contest against the highly touted Monarchs, the opportunistic play by senior Zacarias Nickerson that resulted in the team’s lone touchdown, and attacking the preparation ahead of the Trinity League and regular season finale next Friday at home against rival Santa Margarita.
