Robinson scored the winning run in his first MLB game ever

The Brooklyn Dodgers went on to eventually snag a World Series title. Reinforcing the positive change in the league. 

Ken Griffey Jr, who wore #24 was a major proponent in the concept of Jackie Robinson day where the entire league wears #42 for a day.
